Michael Gross & The Statuettes started off this latest of the City Weekly Music Awards showcases with their classy jackets and winning smiles. View their myspace for a few tunes, check out a music video while you're there and see if you missed out on a good thing. Or pray they make the finals on February 13th at the Depot and catch them again.
If you're interested in tickets to the Finals where you will see the Top 3 bands play along with Ben Kweller, get your tickets at Slowtrain records in Salt Lake City. Say hello to Anna and Chris while you're there. They're great folks. They also have some of the best selection of eclectic music in town. Also, the top band of the CWMAs, as voted by the crowds at the top 30 showcases, will win 3,000 bones for their efforts along with bragging rights.
Cavedoll at Urban

Cavedoll did it up right 'n proper with their set and a chance at the top 3. All-star couple Camden and Vanesssa Chamberlain (who I recently wrote about) front this group of neo-glam-punk-electro-rock local mainstays. And they did a killer job, as usual, performing for their fans. These cats are well-known for their professionalism and they deserve the accolades they get. I wouldn't be surprised if they garnered a Top 3 spot. If you missed them tonight you can catch them soon at W. on February 25th. Click for their profile on NPR.org and listen to their song "Decoder."
If you've been missing the CWMA's and you forgot how awesome they are, make sure to check out the line-up here. Only a few days are left and at $6 per show it really is a great deal. I will be showing up at Urban Lounge again tomorrow night (Friday, February 6th) to catch The Future of the Ghost and then jetting over to Bar Deluxe and catching Andale! (tentatively). See you then!
